Rangers might have worked out a new way in which to finally sign Daniel Johnson.
The Gers have been heavily linked with a move for the Preston midfielder over the past week or so.
According to The Daily Record, Rangers believe a fee of around £2 million will be able to prise him from Deepdale.
But the Ibrox outfit may reportedly have a way to sign him for cheaper than that.
The Scottish Sun reported on Wednesday night that Rangers have told Jordan Jones that he can leave Glasgow.
And the report adds that the light Blues could send him to the Championship outfit in a player-plus-cash arrangement that would see the Jamaican star head North of the border.
The Scottish Sun also claims that a number of Championship sides are keen on the Northern Ireland international, who is available for under £1 million.
Johnson only has one year left on his contract and what a good piece of business it would be if Rangers could not only offload Jones, but sign a top player for slightly more than £1 million in the process.
