According to the Daily Mail, Rangers target Lyle Taylor has now been offered a huge deal to join Galatasaray this summer.

Last week, TEAMtalk emerged with a report about Taylor’s future. They suggested that the Charlton Athletic hitman was wanted by a whole host of clubs.

Rangers were one of them, alongside Burnley, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Middlesbrouh, Preston North End and Stoke City.

Taylor is out of contract at Charlton this summer, and is certainly moving on. He has even refused to play for the Addicks when football returns, due to fears over an injury scuppering his big move.

Now, it’s stated that Galatasaray have offered Taylor a staggering deal. They have allegedly offered to quadruple Taylor’s wages, in the hope of luring him to Turkey.

The report again noted Rangers’ interest in Taylor, but Galatasaray’s bumper deal may just leave the Gers trailing in the race for his signature.

It’s unclear just how much Taylor is earning right now, but an educated guess would suggest that Galatasaray’s offer could be in the region of £30-40,000-a-week.

That’s a big offer, especially to a player who has turned out for 14 clubs and recently turned 30. This chance may not come again, but whether he wants to leave Britain for Turkey will be a key factor, and Rangers may still hope to tempt him north of the border.

Taylor has smashed 36 goals in 67 games for Charlton, including 11 this term. He would add a big, strong presence to the Rangers attack, but it’s clear that Steven Gerrard and co face a fight.
