Rangers look set to face a severely-depleted Benfica side at Ibrox on Thursday.
Rangers are above the Group D favourites on head-to-head, having earned a 3-3 draw in Lisbon at the start of this month.
And Steven Gerrard’s team may fancy their chances of extending that lead after Benfica suffered their latest blow on Wednesday.
Record reported earlier in the day that the Eagles could be without eight first-team players in Glasgow, with youth-team call-ups likely.
And that tally is now said to stand at nine, with the Portuguese website claiming that Adel Taarabt – whom some Rangers fans may remember from his time in British football – has tested positive for Covid-19.
Taarabt follows his teammates Julian Weigl and Darwin Nunez, the latter of whom equalised for Benfica last time out against Rangers, in suffering from the virus.
The Eagles are also without André Almeida, Nuno Tavares, Jean-Clair Todibo and Pedrinho to injury, while Nicolas Otamendi is suspended and Andreas Samaris is unregistered, according to Record.
Meanwhile, Rangers are at close to full health for Benfica’s visit, with Gerrard revealing that Bongani Zungu could return to action at Ibrox.
