Rangers goalkeeping coach Jim Stewart is reportedly set to leave Ibrox.

According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers goalkeeping coach Jim Stewart is set to leave the club, with new manager Pedro Caixinha lining up Jose Belman as his replacement.
The Gers presented Caixinha as their new manager on Monday afternoon, with the Portuguese boss beginning work at Ibrox following a lengthy wrangle to make him Mark Warburton’s successor.
The 46-year-old will be hoping to beat Hamilton Academical this weekend, using the rest of the season to analyse his squad – but there could also be coaching changes on the way.
Caixinha wants a ‘local’ coach to become his assistant manager, helping him adjust to life in Scotland, with goalkeeping coach Jim Stewart now expected to leave the club imminently.
Whilst the Daily Record claimed last week that Stewart was safe, The Scottish Sun now report that Stewart is set for the Ibrox exit door, almost ten years since arriving in Glasgow.
Rangers’ Wesley Foderingham could be working with a new coach
Stewart, 63, made 55 appearances for Rangers during his playing days, and having left Hearts for Ibrox in 2007, he has worked with a host of goalkeepers during his time with the club, including Allan McGregor, Neil Alexander, Cammy Bell, Steve Simonsen, Wes Foderingham, Maciej Gostomski, Matt Gilks and recent signing Jak Alnwick.
Now though, it’s claimed that Stewart is set to leave Rangers, with Caixinha plotting a move to reunite with one his most trusted coaches.
Spaniard Jose Belman worked with Caixinha at Nacional, Santos Laguna and Al-Gharafa, and an Ibrox reunion looks to be on the cards, with changes set to sweep across the club in the coming weeks and months.
