Glasgow Rangers are reportedly closing in on a deal to bring a teenage forward to Ibrox on a pre-contract basis.

Roberts is one of the brightest starlets currently on the Baggies’ books, but his future remains uncertain. The 19-year-old – who is currently on loan with League One side Walsall – is out of contract at the end of the season, and The Sun reports that he could be available for just £300,000 if he leaves The Hawthorns at the end of his contract.

Rangers had Roberts on their radar last month, according to The Sun, but had initially wanted to bring him to Ibrox on loan for the rest of the season.

Roberts certainly looks set for an extremely bright future if he continues to progress at his current rate. He has scored five times in League One with Walsall, and The Sun suggests that a number of clubs, including Ligue 1 giants Marseille, are keen on landing him.
And with Rangers not boasting a significant number of striker options to pick from, the opportunity to land one of the most talented prospects in the Football League right now for a low six-figure fee should be one that the Light Blues are trying to grasp with both hands and make sure that they do not miss out on.
