Rangers could be about to lure midfielder Greg Docherty to Ibrox.

According to the Daily Mail, Rangers are moving closer to securing a deal for Hamilton Academical ace Greg Docherty, with only finer details still to be resolved.
The Gers handed former caretaker Graeme Murty the reins until the end of the season back in December, and have decided to back him with new signings during this month’s transfer window.
Russell Martin, Sean Goss, Jamie Murphy and Jason Cummings have all arrived, joining on loan from Norwich City, Queens Park Rangers, Brighton and Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest respectively.

However, Murty and director of football Mark Allen aren’t finished just yet, and have been focusing their attentions on bringing another midfielder to Ibrox, with Hamilton Academical ace Greg Docherty their top target.
One bid has already failed, but the Daily Mail now report that an agreement over a fee is now largely in place, with Hamilton only haggling over the finer details of the deal.
Securing a deal for Docherty would be a major boost for Murty in terms of his midfield options, especially given that Graham Dorrans remains out of action through injury.

Docherty, 21, has come up through the ranks at Hamilton, but has already racked up more than 100 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals.
The promising young midfielder has impressed this season, and it seems that Rangers are moving closer to making a fifth new signing during this month’s transfer window.
