Rangers and Celtic have each watched Martin Boyle in recent months, according to The Daily Record.
And it is claimed both Rangers and Celtic would have been interested in signing the Hibernian winger, had he become a free agent at the end of this season.
But the newspaper adds that Boyle is instead set to sign a ‘bumper, new two-year contract’ at Easter Road, after his current employers ‘pushed the boat out financially’.
Boyle scored or made 10 goals in 20 Premiership games for Hibs last season and has already struck two in five this time out.
The Australian’s form led Kevin Kyle, the former Rangers striker, to suggest him as a replacement for Ryan Kent on Tuesday (Open Goal), should the latter leave Ibrox in the wake of an approach from Leeds United.

Of course, it is still possible that Rangers and Celtic would be willing to pay for Boyle next summer, should his recent form continue.
The 27-year-old had looked to be leaving Hibs for England, with Stoke City, Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday all keen, according to The Daily Record.
