Rangers manager Steven Gerrard looks set to call time on Pena’s Ibrox career.

Carlos Pena’s Rangers career is over – although claims the Gers are terminating his contract remain unverified, according to the Daily Record.
It has been suggested that Steven Gerrard’s side are ready to rip up Pena’s deal [Vanguardia] – which is worth £20,000 a week [Daily Record] and still has 18 months to run.
But the Scottish newspaper claims that while Rangers are refusing to be drawn on the speculation, the midfielder is contemplating offers from Mexico, Turkey and Poland and will never play again for the Gers.
Rangers paid £2.7 million to sign Pena from C.D. Guadalajara at the start of last season [Transfermarkt], but the 28-year-old only played 14 times for the Gers, scoring five goals, before returning to Mexico a year ago.

He was first loaned to Cruz Azul before Club Necaxa took over his registration last summer, although neither spell can be considered successful.
Pena is reported to have been affected by off-field problems throughout his time back home [Daily Record].
