The Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is reported to have paid £500,000 to bring the defender to Ibrox on loan.

The Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, will block any attempt by Nottingham Forest to recall Joe Worrall in January, according to the Daily Mirror (December 5 liveblog, 10:36).
Rangers took Worrall on a season-long loan deal in August, for which the newspaper claims there is no recall clause.
But it is understood that such agreements can be terminated early with the consent of all three parties.
And after Michael Dawson limped out of Nottingham Forest’s win against Ipswich Town on Saturday, it had been speculated that the question could be put to Rangers.

Worrall has played 12 times for Gerrard’s side this season, with his most impressive displays arriving in the Europa League.
But the 21-year-old recently angered a section of the Rangers fanbase by stating that he sees his future as a Nottingham Forest player.

A product of the Reds’ academy system, Worrall cost Rangers £500,000 upon moving to Ibrox, according to the Daily Mirror.
And that could further complicate any attempt by Aitor Karanka, the Nottingham Forest manager, to bring him back in January.
Should Rangers entertain an early return for Worrall?
