Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers look set to replace Mark Allen.
Mark Allen’s seat at Rangers is still warm and it looks like the club might be about to snag a successor.
Allen left his role as the Gers’ Director of Football a few weeks ago and the club have wasted no time in looking for a replacement.
One day after he left, it was reported by The Daily Record that Rangers wanted Ross Wilson as his successor at Ibrox.
The trail went cold, but it now seems like it’s about to materialise.
The Record have reported that the Scottish giants are back in ‘deep talks’ with the Southampton chief and that Gerrard has personally reached out to urge him to take the role.
The report adds that 36-year-old Wilson rejected the chance to move to Glasgow two-and-a-half years ago, before Allen was appointed as their DoF.
It won’t be long before the January window is open and it’s key that Rangers have viable targets in mind well before that.
The sooner Wilson is signed up, the better for the club.
