Rangers are looking to bring defender Jake Cooper to Ibrox.

According to The Scottish Sun, Millwall defender Jake Cooper wants a move to Rangers – but their £3million bid for him has been met with silence form the Lions, despite claims that he wants a move to Ibrox.
The Gers have set about improving their defence this summer. David Bates moved on to Hamburg, Russell Martin returned to Norwich City, Bruno Alves has joined Parma and Fabio Cardoso looks set to leave too in a major overhaul at the back.
Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic have arrived, but with Ross McCrorie moving into midfield, another defender is needed – and Steven Gerrard’s next top target appears to have emerged.
The Scottish Sun report that Rangers have launched a £3million bid for Millwall defender Jake Cooper, but the Championship club have so far failed to offer any sort of answer to the Gers.
That has left Rangers hanging, but the report adds that they do believe that Cooper wants a move to Glasgow this summer, with the Gers hoping to secure the deal sooner rather than later.
Yet with Millwall blanking them so far, it’s claimed that Rangers may move on to other targets, with Gerrard keen to bring in a left-sided centre back to boost his defensive options this summer.

Cooper, 23, was on the books of Reading before heading to Millwall on loan in 2017, and he made his move permanent last summer following the Lions’ promotion back to the Championship.
The 6ft 4in defender scored four times in 42 games last season, and Millwall are understandably keen to keep him at The New Den – but will have to give Rangers an answer at some point.
