Glasgow Rangers are looking to bring Steven Davis back to Ibrox on an initial loan deal before pursuing a permanent move in the summer.

Davis has barely featured for Southampton this term, making just one substitute appearance in the Premier League. And it appears that Rangers are ready to make their move more than six years after he left the Gers.
The report adds that Steven Gerrard’s side will have the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Although this season has not gone to plan for Davis – who earns £60,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – it appears that it could be a very smart piece of business from Rangers to get the Northern Ireland international back through the Ibrox door during the next window.
He boasts an enormous amount of quality and will add additional experience to Gerrard’s side. The Gers boss is working with a fairly young squad, so having another older pro within the ranks should be extremely beneficial.
And given that he is also a player who knows what it takes to win major honours with Rangers, there is no reason to think that the loan move could not prove to be a masterstroke from the Gers.
