Rangers attacker Michael O’Halloran could be fighting for his Ibrox future.
Rangers’ Michael O’Halloran shoots
According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has banished Michael O’Halloran from first-team training after he didn’t show up to an Under-20 game earlier this week.
O’Halloran, 26, has endured a frustrating time with Rangers since his January 2016 move from St Johnstone, with the winger yet to really nail down a regular starting role.
The former Celtic youngster has started just six league games this season, and hasn’t started a game since being sent off after just five minutes of the January clash with Motherwell.
In an attempt to keep his fitness up and give him some playing time, O’Halloran was set to feature in Rangers’ Under-20 side against Hearts on Monday evening – but the Gers were left bemused by the forward not even showing up for the game.
It’s unclear just why O’Halloran didn’t show up, but his future at Rangers is now hanging in the balance having been banished from first-team training by manager Pedro Caixinha, according to The Scottish Sun.

The report claims that Caixinha met with O’Halloran this morning, and told the Scot to train away from the first team in a move that will spark rumours about his long-term future at Ibrox.
Hearts and Motherwell are mentioned as two teams interested in signing O’Halloran, and Rangers may well decide to cash in this summer given Caixinha’s unhappiness with the winger.
With the transfer window drawing ever closer, we may have seen O’Halloran in a Rangers shirt for the last time, unless he can somehow convince Caixinha to change his mind and get himself back in the frame at Ibrox.
