According to the Bristol Post, Rangers and Sheffield United must be a seven-figure fee to land Peterborough frontman Jonson Clarke-Harris.

The report claims that the Gers and the Blades must stump up £5 million if they’re to sign the 26-year-old, who is having a memorable season.

In 40 appearances for Peterborough this term, the Leicester-born striker has scored a remarkable 27 goals.

That is more than the likes of Mohamed Salah and Alfredo Morelos have managed to score this season – the pair sit on 25 and 16 goals respectively.

Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry also confirmed that Bournemouth were keen, and predicts a flurry of bids for Clarke-Harris this summer.

The Bristol Post adds that Rangers and Sheffield United had scouts present on Saturday, where the Peterborough No.9 scored a hat-trick against Accrington Stanley.

So, what type of player is Clarke-Harris?

Well, the Derby Telegraph claim that he has drawn comparisons to Che Adams and Troy Deeney – two players you wouldn’t mind being compared to.

Both excelled in the lower divisions before doing it in the Premier League, and it seems like there’s no reason why Clarke-Harris can’t make the step up to a higher level as well.

With the amount of interest in him, you’d be wise to keep an eye on this transfer saga over the summer.
