According to L’Equipe, Rangers and Celtic target Adrian Grbic could end up costing around £10.8million if Clermont Foot get their way.

The French newspaper claim that Lens and Brest have both made moves for Grbic, with the latter offering a deal worth €6million (£5.4million).

Clermont Foot have rejected both approaches, and want to use Lyon’s deal for Tino Kadewere to justify a huge asking price.

Kadewere joined Lyon from Le Havre in January, with the Ligue 1 side paying €12million (£10.8million) to sign the Zimbabwean striker.

Clermont Foot feel that Grbic should be worth a similar price. Both players have been in Ligue 2 this season, with Kadewere hitting 20 goals and four assists in 24 games, whilst Grbic has hit 17 goals and four assists in 26 games.

Clermont Foot’s stance is understandable, as they don’t want to lose Grbic on the cheap. The 23-year-old has excelled this season, becoming a sensation thanks to his impressive free kicks.

TEAMtalk reported back in April that Celtic and Rangers both want Grbic, seemingly viewing him as a potential replacement for their respective star strikers.

Celtic will be fending off interest in Odsonne Edouard, whilst Rangers have to try and keep Alfredo Morelos. Grbic is seemingly on the radar of both clubs in case they need to spend big.

Still, they likely wouldn’t have expected a deal worth nearly £11million for the Austrian, and splashing that much on a second-tier striker may put the Old Firm duo off.
