Glasgow Rangers are keen to bring Glen Kamara to Ibrox, but will have to battle their bitter rivals to land the 22-year-old this summer.

According to a report from The Sun, Rangers are keen to bring Glen Kamara to Ibrox during the summer, but the Gers will face competition from Celtic and Swansea City for his signature.

The 22-year-old only signed for Dundee last summer following his departure from Arsenal, but he has made a big impression on the Scottish Premiership heavyweights.

Rangers manager Graeme Murty is seen during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Aberdeen at Ibrox Stadium on January 24, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The Sun reports that Rangers had one eye on Kamara when Dundee travelled to Ibrox recently, while Celtic were also impressed by the youngster when they came up against Neil McCann’s side the week before.

However, The Sun adds that Swansea are also monitoring his situation. The report suggests that £1 million may be enough to get a deal done with the strugglers unable to compete with the three sides on a financial front.

Celtic's head coach Brendan Rodgers talks during a press conference in Brussels on September 26, 2017 on the eve of the Champions League group B) football match against RSC Anderlecht.

Could Rangers win the race against Celtic and Swansea?

Out of the three sides, it could certainly be argued that Rangers will be the ones who will be hoping that a bidding war does not ensue as the Hoops and Swans should be able to offer more than the Gers if they decide to.

He would arguably be a very good addition to the Light Blues’ squad as they prepare to rebuild in the summer after a disappointing campaign. Kamara predominantly plays in holding midfield, but can also play slightly further forward or at right-back if required.

And with Rangers needing a boost heading into the summer, it is perhaps fair to suggest that beating Celtic and Swansea to sign Kamara would be a very good way for the Gers to make a statement ahead of next season.
