Newcastle United are on the hunt for a new striker next season, with their current forward options struggling for goals.

According to the Daily Mail, Rafael Benitez would welcome Fernando Torres at Newcastle United.
Benitez and Torres worked together earlier in their careers at Liverpool, and the Newcastle boss got the very best out of the Spaniard.
Torres is a very different player now, having lost some of his blistering pace, but he could be available this summer.

And the Mail claim that Benitez would love to see Torres at Newcastle.
The Magpies are known to be looking for a new striker, as they look to improve their current forward options.
Newcastle’s top scorer this season so far is Ayoze Perez, who has hit the back of the net six times.
Torres, meanwhile, has found the back of the net on eight occasions for Atletico Madrid.

The 34-year-old forward has already confirmed that he will be leaving Atleti at the end of the season, when his contract expires, and Benitez is open to the possibility of bringing the veteran forward to St. James’ Park.
However, Benitez reportedly feels that Torres is more likely to move elsewhere, with a switch to USA or China most likely.
