Newcastle United are set to back Rafael Benitez with funds to spend in the summer.

Rafael Benitez’s future at Newcastle is still not certain, as it is thought that he wants assurances that he will have money to spend.
And the Telegraph claim that the Newcastle boss will be provided with funds to inject into his side.

Benitez has stressed the need for more quality at St. James’ Park publicly, but he was frustrated in January, when he was not given the money to sign any players on permanent transfers.
The Magpies still look likely to remain in the Premier League though, which is a huge achievement.
If Newcastle do stay in the top tier, then the purse strings are finally set to be loosened this summer.

Mike Ashley is planning on giving Benitez more money than last summer to put into bringing new players to Tyneside.
Newcastle’s biggest transfer last summer was Jacob Murphy, but the Magpies also brought in the likes of Florian Lejeune and Mikel Merino.
