Rolando Aarons only made 11 appearances for Newcastle United last season.

According to a report in the Shields Gazette, Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons has impressed Rafael Benitez with his performances in training.
Aarons missed much of last campaign with injury, but the youngster was handed an opportunity to showcase his talent on the final day of the campaign by Benitez.
Aarons came off the substitutes’ bench to score in Newcastle’s 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

That was only Aarons’ 11th appearances of the season, and there are now some doubts over the future of the winger.
The 20-year-old has shown glimpses of promise since breaking into the Magpies’ first-team in 2014, but his struggles with injury have been a concern.
Aarons has just one year remaining on his contract, and Benitez reportedly has not made his mind up over whether to offer the youngster a new deal.

Aarons could be set to play a more prominent role next season, as Newcastle look to get out of the Championship at the first time of asking.
Newcastle are currently the favourites to win the second tier next term, following Benitez’s commitment to stay at St. James’ Park.
