Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has still not extended his current contract at St. James’ Park.

However, sources close to Benitez insist that this is not the case – and the Spanish boss will walk out on Newcastle if his clauses are not met.
Benitez’s contract at Newcastle expires at the end of the season, and it is still not clear whether he will be with the Tyneside club next term.
Newcastle supporters are desperate for Benitez to stay, and Ashley is said to be confident that the former Liverpool boss will pen new terms.
However, Benitez’s representatives are reportedly insisting that the 59-year-old wants his terms met, before he commits his future to Newcastle.

Benitez is looking for money to spend at St. James’ Park, and he also wants more ability to sign older players.
Newcastle tend not to snap up targets who are over the age of 30, but Benitez feels that the policy is restrictive.
Newcastle are currently in 15th place in the Premier League table, and look set to survive in the top flight for another season, largely thanks to Benitez’s managerial expertise.
