Newcastle United’s players are expected to return to pre-season training early next season.

According to a report in the Daily Star, Rafael Benitez is planning on recalling Newcastle United’s players early for pre season training.
Newcastle want to start training for pre-season on June 28th, which is in just five weeks’ time.
The Magpies plan to return a week earlier than they did when Steve McClaren was in charge last season.

Benitez wants to ensure that his Newcastle squad are fully prepared for the start of the Championship season, as they aim to bounce straight back from relegation.
The Tynesiders are currently the favourites to win the second tier next term, but Benitez realises that there is work to be done if they are to live up to expectations.

Newcastle’s players that are at Euro 2016 will be given extra time off, but the entirety of the rest of the squad will be expected to report back in five weeks.
Benitez is also expected to commit his future to Newcastle in the coming days, with the Spaniard reportedly agreeing to waive the relegation release clause in his contract.
