Newcastle United are keen to offload a number of fringe players, to make room for new arrivals.

According to The Northern Echo, Newcastle United are looking to offload six players in the next fortnight.

Rafael Benitez has already brought in four new players this summer, with more new arrivals set to join up at St. James’ Park.

And Benitez wants to make room for these new arrivals by offloading some of his fringe players in the near future.

The Northern Echo say that Emmanuel Riviere, Tim Krul, Achraf Lazaar, Karl Darlow, Chancel Mbemba, Henri Saivet and Aleksandar Mitrovic are all up for sale.

And Benitez wants to clear the decks as quickly as possible, to ensure that Newcastle’s squad does not become bloated.

Benitez wants to have a streamlined squad next term, to ensure that all the players are motivated.

At the moment though, Benitez’s chances of getting his wish seem unlikely.

Newcastle are working hard to do deals for their fringe players, but at the moment Riviere is the only man close to leaving Tyneside.

Riviere has had a miserable time at Newcastle, and could move to Turkish side Osmanlispor in the near future.
