Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez is keen for new arrivals to sign up at St. James’ Park.

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, Rafael Benitez has listed 500 potential transfer targets for Newcastle United in the summer.

Benitez is determined to bring in improvements to his squad when the transfer window re-opens, and is eager to be backed with funds.

The Spanish boss barely spent any money in the January transfer window, with three loan deals all he was able to complete.

But Benitez is hoping for a change in fortunes, if Newcastle do stay in the Premier League this term.

Benitez now has listed an extensive number of potential targets for Newcastle, and will assess them all in greater details over the coming weeks.

Whether Mike Ashley will provide Benitez with more funds in the summer remains to be seen, but it could be crucial.

The experienced boss has made no secret of his frustrations at Newcastle’s lack of progress in the transfer market, and has been asking for new additions for some time.

Newcastle are currently in 13th place in the Premier League table, four points above the Premier League’s relegation zone.
