Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has been linked with the exit at St. James’ Park.

Newcastle are said to be considering placing Brendan Rodgers in charge.
And Benitez fears that there are truth in the rumours that he could be replaced.
Benitez is said to have no desire to stay on at Newcastle beyond this season, when his contract expires.
The Spanish boss’s relationship with Mike Ashley is known to have been tested, due to a perceived lack of transfer funds.

Benitez still remains hugely popular at St. James’ Park though, and Ashley knows he will face fierce criticism if he lets the Magpies’ current manager go.
Benitez is fearful, though, that Ashley will feel that swapping him for Rodgers now will limit the frustration of Newcastle fans, and he is reportedly scared that he could be forced to leave the Tynesiders sooner rather than later.
