The Newcastle United boss is looking to streamline his bloated squad.
According to the Chronicle, Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez is keen to find a resolution to Cheick Tiote’s future at the club.
The Magpies have been busy signing players this summer, with eight players arriving and even more expected.
It has left them with a somewhat top heavy squad and despite eight players already departing, Benitez is determined to keep cutting the deadwood from his squad.
One man’s future he is hoping to resolve is Tiote’s, who is looking likely to leave at some point.
He was set for a move to China in January but that fell through and he went on to feature regularly at the end of the season under Benitez.
However, it appears he does not have a place in the first-team this season after their summer transfer business and Benitez is keen to find a resolution.
According to the Chronicle, the midfielder is looking around for options but there is no deal with any clubs at present.
Al Jazira launched a move for his services two weeks ago, but so far they have failed to reach an agreement for the player.
