According to Centotrentuno.com, Leeds United are interested in bringing Nahitan Nandez to Elland Road in the summer transfer window.
Leeds wanted to sign Nandez from Cagliari last summer and could make a bid for the versatile midfielder as soon as the season in Italy ends, according to the report.
The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that the Uruguay international midfielder has a release clause of €36 million (£31.29 million), and that the cordial relationship between Leeds chairman Andrea Radrizzani and Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini could be key in a potential transfer.
Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa reportedly likes the 25-year-old Uruguay international for his versatility.
Cagliari head coach Leonardo Semplici said this month, as quoted in Football Italia, that “Nandez is a versatile figure who can play in three different midfield roles”.

Good signing for Leeds United?
Nandez has been at Cagliari since 2019 and has been a success in Italy.
The midfielder has played with the likes of Edinson Cavani and Lucas Torreira for the Uruguay national football team, and the 25-year-old is a very experienced player whose ability to play in a number of positions in midfield would give Leeds head coach Bielsa valuable options.
According to a report in Centro Trentuno in September 2020, as covered by HITC Sport, Bielsa first became aware of the midfielder back in 2019 when he was at Boca Juniors and wanted to sign him for Leeds at the time.
According to WhoScored, the midfielder scored two goals and provided three assists in 32 Serie A starts last season, and has scored one goal in 26 league starts this campaign.
