Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani is in advanced talks to sell a minority stake at Elland Road.

Andrea Radrizzani, Owner of Leeds United (3L) looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Bristol City and Leeds United at Ashton Gate on October 21, 2017 in Bristol, England.

According to a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post, Andrea Radrizzani is in advanced talks to sell a minority stake in Leeds United that will see the club’s transfer budget for the summer receive a boost.

Radrizzani has been the sole owner of the Championship side since 2017 when his buyout brought an end to Massimo Cellino’s tenure as President of the Whites.

But it may not be too long before Radrizzani’s share in Leeds is taken down to 90 per cent with the Yorkshire Evening Post reporting that talks over a sale are at an advanced stage – and that may prove to be excellent news for Paul Heckingbottom.

The Yorkshire Evening Post adds that the sale is set to boost the club’s transfer kitty for the upcoming window, which will undoubtedly be a huge lift for Heckingbottom after such a disappointing campaign on the pitch for the Whites.

Leeds Manager Paul Heckingbottom looks on prior to the Sky Bet Championship match between Aston Villa and Leeds United at Villa Park on April 13, 2018 in Birmingham, England.

Four wins in 2018 saw Leeds fall out of play-off contention and out of the top-half altogether before the curtain came down on the campaign, and there is a general consensus amongst the fans that the squad needs a major overhaul with much of the recruitment from last summer proving to be underwhelming to say the least.

If Heckingbottom has greater funds to work with, it would hardly be a surprise if Leeds try and go after fewer signings than they brought in last year, but generally look for marquee additions rather than a numerous players who appear to be much more risky additions arriving with no Championship experience under their belt.
