The Telegraph report Andrea Radrizzani has a deadline to buy Massimo Cellino’s remaining 50 per cent stake in Leeds United.

Radrizzani bought half of the club in January and agreed in principle a deal to buy the rest this summer.

The Telegraph report this was dependent on Leeds not winning promotion.

Leeds have narrowly missed out on a play-off spot, removing Cellino’s first chance to stay.

However there is a second condition to Radrizzani’s proposed buyout, and this is that a deal must be completed by the end of June.

This does not have to be an absolute cut off, but it will clearly be far easier for Radrizzani to take 100 per cent control if he invokes his option by the end of next month.

The Italian media mogul has the capital to buy Cellino’s remaining stake, although the former Cagliari owner could still seek to dig in and stick around if he so chooses.

Both men have been quiet on their plans since January, and with head coach Garry Monk’s future uncertain as well as a number of key players, getting this all resolved will be key. A relatively early deadline should help.
