Cy Goddard is yet to make a senior appearance for Tottenham.
Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claim third-tier Italian side Racing Fondi are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur youngster Cy Goddard on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, instead being somewhat of a regular in Spurs’ Under-23 squad with 37 appearances for the second string.
An attacking midfielder, Goddard has chosen to represent Japan and the report claims he is learning the language two times a week despite being born in London.
Now, the report claims Racing Fondi are in talks with Tottenham over securing a loan move for Goddard, who is unlikely to break into the Spurs first team anytime soon with the likes of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-Min in his way.
Serie C, Italy’s third tier of football, is broken down into three leagues, separating the north west, north east and south of Italy. Fondi currently reside in Group C, where they are 15th in this season’s standings out of 19 sides.
However, they could bolster their fight against relegation by landing Goddard on loan, with Di Marzio claiming their is a “far from remote possibility” that Spurs and Fondi could strike a deal.
