A report in The Scottish Sun has claimed that Queens Park Rangers have included Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes on their shortlist of potential managerial candidates as their search for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbainks’s successor continues.
The Scottish Sun reports that the Hoops hierarchy have been impressed by the work that the former Bristol City manager has done at Pittodrie and maintain an interest, though they are yet to ask for permission to speak to the 45-year-old.

And while The Scottish Sun hints that Rangers are keen on McInnes, a report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that he faces an uphill battle trying to earn the job at Loftus Road, should he want it, as Ian Holloway is on the verge of returning to the club a decade after he originally left.
Though Holloway certainly appears to have the fans on his side – while it seems unlikely that many supporters would have included McInnes in their discussions when Hasselbaink initially parted company with the club – it is surely fair to say that the Aberdeen boss still ticks some boxes.
Ian Holloway
Holloway has been out of management since leaving Millwall in March 2015, while McInnes has done an excellent job with the Dons, having frequently pushed Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race in recent seasons.
However, others may point to his lack of experience in the Championship and his disappointing spell with the Robins as a reason why appointing McInnes may be a greater gamble than turning to Holloway.
