Queens Park Rangers are reportedly determined to sign the Bristol City winger but his statistics should worry fans.
Even if Queens Park Rangers don’t immediately improve their squad with the signing of Luke Freeman this month, they could still secure his signature in the summer on a pre-contract agreement, the Bristol Post reports – though his productivity this season will hardly excite his potential new fans.
The former Arsenal youngster has been heavily linked with a mid-season move to Loftus Road as Ian Holloway looks to shake up the options at his disposal and continue QPR’s recent renaissance on the back of three consecutive league victories.
West London Sport reported on Tuesday that QPR had a £250,000 bid dismissed out of hand by The Robins but, with Freeman’s contract due to expire in the summer, Lee Johnson’s side are facing up to the prospect of losing him regardless.

And the Bristol Post reports that Holloway may settle for agreeing the signing of Freeman on a Bosman ruling, meaning he will agree to move to the capital in the summer once he becomes a free agent.
Nonetheless, the 24-year-old’s statistics hardly make for inspiring reading. In 18 Championship appearances this season, the attacking midfielder has scored just two goals and, even more worryingly, assisted a grand total of zero.

A QPR side who have struggled to hit the net all season will surely demand improvements in the final third next season, free transfer or not.
Compare this with the nine goals and two assists provided by reported target Danny Ward, in a dismal Rotherham side no less, and it’s clear which player is more deserving of a January move.
West London Sport claimed that QPR had a £1.2 million bid rejected by The Millers but, as they look certain for relegation, Ward will surely leave eventually. And, when he does, he could prove to be a much more astute addition at Loftus Road than Freeman.
