Queens Park Rangers are reportedly interested in signing Arouna Kone from Everton in the January transfer window.

Queens Park Rangers are interested in signing Arouna Kone from Everton in the January transfer window, according to Get West London.

It has been reported that Championship club QPR are weighing up a bid for Kone.

“And as ever with the January window, it might come down to the cost of the loan fee, as well as agreeing wages for a player understood to be on a reported £40,000-a-week, way above what Rs would be willing to pay,” states the report in Get West London.

Kone is struggling for playing time at Everton at the moment and does not appear to be in manager Ronald Koeman’s plans.

The 33-year-old striker has made just three appearances in the Premier League so far this season, creating one chance in the process.

During the 2015-16 campaign, the former Wigan Athletic man scored five goals and created 13 chances in 25 league matches for the Toffees.

Given that Kone is 33 years of age, the striker would only be a short-term solution for Rangers.

QPR are 17th in the Championship table at the moment with 29 points from 25 matches.

Ian Holloway’s side are five points above the relegation zone and are still in danger of going down to League One at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.

Meanwhile, Everton are currently seventh in the Premier League table at the moment with 30 points from 20 matches.
