According to Football.London, Queens Park Rangers are ‘unlikely’ to make Jordan Hugill’s loan move to West Ham United permanent.

It’s claimed that Hugill is set to return to West Ham this summer, and wants to prove himself to David Moyes – the man who signed him.

Moyes raided his former club Preston North End to sign Hugill in January 2018, having seen him star during his time with the Lilywhites.

The bustling striker hit 10 goals in the first half of the 2017-18 campaign to spark Moyes’ interest, and he paid up £10million to bring him to East London.

However, Moyes only gave Hugill three substitute appearances. Once Moyes left, Manuel Pellegrini shipped him out on loan to Middlesbrough and then QPR.

The 27-year-old has notched 13 goals in 37 games this season, but QPR won’t be turning the move permanent – possibly due to the finances involved.

West Ham can’t expect to receive anything like the £10million they paid, but would still be in a position to demand a strong fee despite the global pandemic.

That’s likely beyond QPR right now. With West Ham needing strikers and Moyes having a limited budget, Hugill may just have a chance to finally kickstart his Hammers career – two-and-a-half years since it started.
