It is claimed that Steve McClaren, the Queens Park Rangers manager, is not put off by Barnsley’s £4 million asking price.

Queens Park Rangers are making a move for Barnsley’s Liam Lindsay, according to the Daily Record’s live blog (August 23rd, 13:21).
QPR are said to have turned to the Scottish centre-back after conceding 13 goals in four Championship matches this season.
And it is claimed that Steve McClaren, the QPR manager, is not put off by Barnsley’s £4 million asking price.
Barnsley paid £350,000 to bring Lindsay from Motherwell a year ago, and owe the Scottish side 10 per cent of any sale, according to the Daily Record.

QPR saw Nedum Onuoha and Jack Robinson depart on free transfers at the end of last season, creating a void in Lindsay’s position which Toni Leistner has so far struggled to fill.
Barnsley, who have enjoyed a near perfect start to their League One campaign, are also close to selling Tom Bradshaw, the Welsh striker, to Millwall.
Could Lindsay solve QPR’s defensive problems?
