According to West London Sport, Queens Park Rangers are set to make an offer to sign Oxford United defender Rob Dickie.

It’s claimed that QPR will be saying Eberechi Eze to Crystal Palace, and now plan to reinvest the cash in new signings.

QPR’s first-choice centre back target is Dickie, and they believe they have a real chance to sign him despite Premier League interest.

The Sun reported earlier this month that Newcastle United want to sign Dickie, with Steve Bruce a big fan.

Bruce allegedly wants to buy young British players this summer, and Dickie caught his eye in two FA Cup games against Newcastle last season.

That report suggested that Newcastle were pursuing a deal worth just £2million for Dickie, but QPR may now swoop in.

The 24-year-old has just one year left on his contract at the Kassam Stadium, so clubs are now circling for a possible bargain.

QPR would be landing a major coup if they can beat Newcastle to his signature, with Dickie a strong and aggressive defender who can build attacks from the back.
