Bristol City winger Freeman has been the subject of increasing speculation about his future with QPR making their interest clear.
Luke Freeman may be absent for Bristol City’s derby clash with Cardiff at the weekend as speculation intensifies over an impending move to QPR, the Bristol Post reports.
Rangers’ boss Ian Holloway secured the signature of left-winger Kazenga Lua Lua on loan from Brighton this week and has now reportedly turned his attentions towards the opposite flank, where Freeman has thrived this season under Lee Johnson.
The Bristol Post reports that the former Arsenal youngster, who is out of contract at the end of the season, had been mulling over a new deal purporting to keep him in the West Country until a bid from QPR turned negotiations on their head.
And the same publication reports that Freeman may be left out of Saturday’s game against rivals Cardiff unless he puts pen to paper on a new contract before kick-off.
QPR are expected to make an improved bid in the coming days as Holloway, who only took charge in November, aims to forge a squad capable of arresting a worrying slide that has the Londoners placed precariously above the relegation zone.
And the additions of Freeman and Lua Lua would surely provide an extra spark of creativity to one of the Championship’s lowest scorers.
