According to The Express, Queens Park Rangers are interested in signing Aberdeen midfielder Kenny McLean this summer – and he could cost around £1million.

The R’s blew hot and cold under Ian Holloway in 2017, and he will be looking for new signings during this summer’s transfer window, with central midfield a possible area of concern.

Veteran Karl Henry has been released, Ariel Borysiuk appears to have no future at Loftus Road, and Ryan Manning has been touted for a Premier League, meaning Holloway may look for another option to compete with Massimo Luongo, Luke Freeman, Sean Goss, Michael Doughty and Jordan Cousins.

Now, The Express report that QPR are interested in signing Aberdeen star Kenny McLean, and could launch a £1million bid to sign the midfielder this season.

McLean, 25, hit 24 goals in 154 games for St Mirren before earning a move to Aberdeen in February 2015, and he has been a key player for the Dons ever since.

The one-cap Scotland international now has 14 goals in 110 games for Aberdeen, and his performances under Derek McInnes appear to have attracted major interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

Not only are QPR believed to be weighing up a £1million move having scouted him against Rangers last week, but the Gers themselves are also believed to be keen on the midfielder.

With Aberdeen set to lose Ryan Jack and Niall McGinn when their contracts expire this summer, they certainly won’t want to see McLean leave as well, meaning QPR may face a real battle for his signature.
