According to the Daily Mail, Queens Park Rangers are considering a move to sign striker Nicklas Bendtner on a free transfer.

Bendtner, 28, is best remembered for having scored 47 games in 171 games for Arsenal during a lengthy spell with the Gunners.

After two years in Germany with Wolfsburg, Bendtner is now a free agent, but with the summer transfer window almost over, the 6ft 4in centre forward is still looking for a new club.

The Danish international, who has hit 29 goals in 72 games for his country, and despite being ridiculed throughout his career, he could be a smart addition for a team looking for a new striker.

The Daily Mail report that Queens Park Rangers are now weighing up a move to sign Bendtner on a free transfer, with manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink still keen to add to his striking options.

With competition wanted for the likes of Conor Washington and Sebastian Polter, Bendtner is being targeted in a possible free transfer move to Loftus Road – but the report claims that Bendtner’s wage demands may be a problem.

Given that his last three clubs were Arsenal, Juventus and Wolfsburg, Bendtner may still be looking for a huge salary, which is something the R’s will seemingly explore in the coming days.

A move back to London may be appealing for Bendtner though, and he may have a better chance of playing first-team football with QPR than if he moved to a Premier League club, giving the striker plenty to think about in what would be a shock deal.
