Queens Park Rangers are chasing new signings in the next 24 hours.

According to West London Sport, Queens Park Rangers are chasing five players ahead of Friday’s loan deadline, with Steve McClaren still keen on new signings.

The R’s won for the first time in the league this season with 1-0 home victory over Wigan Athletic last weekend, and followed that up by beating Bristol Rovers 3-1 in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

However, even after landing Nahki Wells and Tomer Hemed on loan, boss McClaren remains in the market for new signings – and West London Sport suggest that five players are on QPR’s radar in the next 24 hours – and here is a run down of each…

Tommy Elphick, Aston Villa: Out of favour at Villa, experienced defender Elphick should be easily available on loan. The former Brighton and Bournemouth man is a Championship veteran, and would be a major boost to a defence which recently leaked seven goals against West Brom.

Geoff Cameron, Stoke City: United States international Cameron has found first-team football hard to come by under Gary Rowett, and could be available before Friday’s deadline. Capable of playing at centre back, right back and in holding midfield, the 33-year-old’s versatility may be appealing to McClaren.

Tom Huddlestone, Derby County: Huddlestone completed a return to Derby last summer, but with Frank Lampard now at the helm, he has yet to make a single league appearance. Now 31, Huddlestone will be looking to move on and play elsewhere – but his wages are thought to be a problem for QPR.

George Thorne, Derby County: Another Derby man, midfielder Thorne worked with McClaren during their time together at Pride Park, and a reunion may suit all given that Thorne’s injury problems in recent years have stifled his career. However, there are concerns about his fitness, and those may just prevent QPR from making a run at signing Thorne this week.

Alexis Blin, Toulouse: The most surprising name on the list is Toulouse ace Blin, who is a current French Under-21 international. The 21-year-old has almost 100 first-team appearances for Toulouse to his name and would represent a real coup for the R’s, but he appears to be an alternative to Cameron at this stage.
