Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers and Stoke City are keen to sign striker Lassine Sinayoko from Auxerre, according to L’Equipe.
Sebastien Haller, Willy Boly, Christopher Jullien and, erm, Yaya Sanogo all honed their talents in one of French football’s most revered finishing schools and now there’s another young talent turning heads in Burgundy.
Sinayoko has scored six times in nine youth league games this season.
And, according to L’Equipe, the 20-year-old’s superb performances have caught the eye of talent spotters on the other side of the Channel.
QPR and Stoke are both interested – claims backed up by France Football.
Sinayoko, a 6ft 1in centre-forward who can also play on the wing, has captained Auxerre’s second team this season.
QPR themselves have struggled for goals since losing Eberechi Eze and Jordan Hugill in the summer.
The same can’t be said of a Stoke City side that, inspired by the electrifying Tyrese Campbell, are closing in on a play-off place under former Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill.
It remains to be seen how much Auxerre would demand for Sinayoko or whether he would be available for transfer in January.
