Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho’s apparent hopes of signing Kurt Zouma could be fading fast, after Goal’s latest transfer report.
The Daily Express had claimed earlier this summer that Tottenham were ‘confident’ over sealing a deal for Chelsea defender Zouma which would have been worth around £25 million.
However, Spurs have still not got that transfer over the line, and it seems that the potential deal could be taken off the table now.
Chelsea were looking to offload one of their centre-backs, but it is Fikayo Tomori who seems closest to moving.
Everton are now closing in on a deal for Tomori, and if he does depart Stamford Bridge, Goal say that Zouma will be kept around by Frank Lampard.

That could be a blow to Tottenham, who are still yet to sign a central defender this summer.
It is felt that Mourinho is keen to add one more centre-back to his group at Spurs, following the expiration of Jan Vertonghen’s contract, and Zouma is a player who he rates highly, after previously working with him at Chelsea.
