Brentford have begun their transfer business early after they confirmed the signing of Danish right-back Henrik Dalsgaard on a three-year deal, reports the BBC.
Manager Dean Smith has looked to get his transfer business done as soon as possible ahead of their Championship season in order to strengthen the side for a play-off push.
Dalsgaard will join the club when the transfer window opens on June 10; moving from Belgian side SV Zulte Waregem for an undisclosed fee.
Brentford’s Scott Hogan scores their second goal
The 27-year-old, who can also play on the right-wing, scored six goals in his 15 Jupiler Pro League appearances this season.
He has three caps for the Denmark national team and has scored some spectacular goals in the Belgian first division coming in from the right-wing.
The Danish defenders height and strength will make him a capable defensive option for Smith’s side, able to handle the physicality of the Championship.
The 6ft 2inch right-back will also offer a threat on the wing going forward as well as he has showed in his time in Belgium, where he uses his strength and power to brush past defenders into dangerous positions as well as a brilliant finishing ability to match.
Many European players struggle to adapt to the rigours of English football but if Dalsgaard can prove his quality in the Championship he would be a wonderful coup for Dean Smith and the Bees.
