Arsenal star Martin Odegaard is receiving interest from Paris Saint-Germain but their pursuit is already ‘doomed’.

Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Arsenal star Martin Odegaard even though a move looks dead in the water.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who claim that PSG have been trying to sound out Odegaard for a switch to France.

However, Odegaard is happy at Arsenal and is vital to Mikel Arteta’s plans moving forward, so no move is expected.

PSG are looking to revamp their midfield once again despite signing Carlos Soler, Fabian Ruiz and Renato Sanchez last summer.

Sporting ace Manuel Ugarte is wanted for the defensive side of the game with PSG looking for Odegaard to bring creativity.

The Norwegian has probably been on the PSG radar ever since he broke out with Stromsgodset as a teenager.

Odegaard lost his way a little with Real Madrid but is really fulfilling his potential with Arsenal.

Europe’s elite and mega-rich clubs will now fancy signing Odegaard, but the Arsenal captain is committed to the project at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal must build around Martin Odegaard for years to come

It’s easy to forget that some Arsenal fans weren’t fully on board with signing Odegaard permanently in 2021.

The 24-year-old had shown some promise on loan but maybe hadn’t made the enormous impact some were hoping to see.

Arsenal pressed ahead with a permanent deal anyway, forking out £30million plus add-ons to sign Odegaard from Real Madrid.

Odegaard played well last season but really took an enormous step forward this term, smashing 15 goals and seven assists.

Odegaard’s guile on the ball and composure in the final third has never been in doubt but adding goals has been huge for him and for Arsenal.

Now Arsenal captain and the key man in Arteta’s side, so the Gunners must shun PSG or any other club who comes in for Odegaard.
