Newcastle United are reportedly interested in the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper this summer.

According to Sky Sport in Germany, Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has decided that he wants to keep Kevin Trapp next season and even hopes to extend his contract – in news that may interest Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez.
The Daily Express reported over the weekend that the Magpies are interested in Trapp following his superb year out on loan with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.
The Express suggested that Benitez is keen to sign a new goalkeeper this summer should he remain at St James’ Park, and Trapp was one option that he was considering as he seemingly looked to provide more competition for Martin Dubravka.
However, it appears that Newcastle may have to look elsewhere if they want a new stopper. Sky Sport have reported that Frankfurt have made a bid for Trapp, but PSG plan to keep the Germany international and hand him a new deal.

The report suggests that Tuchel wants Trapp and Alphonse Areola to battle for the number one spot at Parc des Princes next season, seemingly confirming that Newcastle will likely have to look elsewhere if they want a new goalkeeper this summer.
The positive news for the Magpies is that they have a very good stopper in their ranks in Dubravka. He has been an inspired signing since arriving on Tyneside, and his presence means that the goalkeeping department is not an urgent concern for Benitez this summer.
