According to The Telegraph, PSG are interested in hiring Liverpool Sporting Director Michael Edwards.

The former Tottenham chief has already made it clear that he’ll be leaving Liverpool this summer, with Julian Ward set to replace him, and it sounds as though he could be back in employment sooner rather than later.

Edwards has also been linked with Real Madrid, and it’s really not surprising to see these elite sides linked with the Liverpool man.

Edwards has built an absolute dynasty at Anfield, and he’s done it on a smaller budget than most elite clubs.

He’s made some incredibly savvy signings such as Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for less than £40m a piece, while his big-money additions have always paid off such as Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker.

PSG are one of the richest clubs in the world, and if Edwards is allowed to work with their seemingly limitless wealth, he could build an absolute super team.

PSG’s current Sporting Director, Leonardo, has come under fire in recent weeks for his role in the club’s continued Champions League underperformance after they were eliminated by Real Madrid in the Round of 16 last week, and it sounds as though his job is under threat.

Edwards isn’t the only Sporting Director PSG have their eyes on either. Hugo Viana is another option, while Giovanni Rossi is reportedly also a target.

This seems to be a situation worth keeping an eye on.
