Report: PSG still interested in Spurs’ Pochettino despite Allegri links

PSG are considering Massimiliano Allegri as their next manager but that does not mean they are no longer interested in Tottenham Hotspur’s boss.

Massimiliano Allegri is the latest name on the shortlist of potential managers to succeed Unai Emery at Paris Saint-Germain, reports ESPN.

Emery is expected to lose his job at the Parc des Princes this summer after another disappointing season in which PSG were eliminated from the Champions League at the last-16 stage.

Pochettino no longer wanted?

Unfortunately for Tottenham Hotspur fans this does not mean that the Ligue 1 leaders are no longer interested in their boss, Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino is a former captain of the club and sporting director Antonio Henrique would still prefer to hire the Argentine ahead of Allegri.

It doe seems that current Chelsea chief Antonio Conte is no longer being considered, however, with it seemingly inevitable he will return to coach the Italy national team after holding informal talk with them.

Carlo Ancelotti, Luis Enrique, Andre Villas-Boas are the other names on the shortlist, but currently it seems that Allegri and Pochettino lead the way.
