Edu is clearly a massive part of Arsenal’s future.
The Brazilian endured a rocky start as the Gunners’ technical director and signed off on a number of questionable transfers, such as David Luiz and Willian.
But since Mikel Arteta’s arrival as manager, Edu and the Spanish have been masterminded star signings with such more frequency.
However, the Brazilian mastermind has been linked with a move away form Arsenal in recent weeks, with David Ornstein revealing earlier to The Athletic in October that the 44-year-old has outside interest, as covered by HITC Sport.
But according to 90 Min, the North Londoners have now opened negotiations with Edu about a new contract.

The report adds that although European powerhouses like Paris Saint-Germain have touched base with him, the guru is very happy with the project at Arsenal.
And that, if true, has to be an enormous boost.
If Edu really does snub someone like PSG to stay at Arsenal then it’ll really illustrate how much he believes in what’s happening at the Emirates Stadium.
Arteta’s side are top of the Premier League after 11 games and although there’s stil 27 to play, a title challenge certainly seems possible right now.
Nobody could’ve predicted this, but the addition of Gabriel Jesus, who praised Edu as a factor behind his arrival [Football Daily], has transformed the Gunners from top-four strugglers to genuine contenders.
And so long as Edu remains, there’s no reason to believe the good times aren’t going to get even better over time.
