Tottenham Hotspur appear to be closing in on a move for the prolific forward.
According to a report from French newspaper L’Equipe, Tottenham Hotspur are hopeful of completing a deal for Vincent Janssen next week, despite PSG agreeing a fee with his current club AZ Alkmaar.
The Dutch international has long been linked with a move to White Hart Lane but up until now Mauricio Pochettino’s side has been unable to agree a suitable price with his current employer.
That could be about to change though, with L’Equipe claiming that while Tottenham had a £15million offer rejected last month they have since returned with an improved bid and are hopeful of sealing a deal in the coming days as the player wants to move to England.
That would be another coup for Spurs after they secured the signature of Victor Wanyama for what could prove to be a cut-price fee.
Tottenham are in need of additional strikers to ease the pressure on Harry Kane and the prolific Janssen could be just that player.
The report goes on to claim that if PSG miss out on Janssen – as seems likely due to his preference of a move to North London – they could bring in Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette.
