A report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that Paris Saint-Germain have become the latest club to register an interest in Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, but ideally do not want to sign the forward permanently.

The striker – who is also attracting the attention of Premier League pair West Ham and Stoke City – is set to leave Anfield at the end of the season, the Mirror reports, after falling down the pecking order under Jurgen Klopp, and the Champions League contenders have now entered the running for his signature.

However, the Mirror adds that PSG ideally want to sign the forward on loan but may find it difficult to negotiate such a deal as the Reds value him at £30 million.

Although Sturridge is arguably one of the Premier League’s best when he is fit and playing in a system that allows him to thrive, his struggles with injuries mean that it would surely be a huge gamble for any club to pay such a fee for the 27-year-old, especially as he should only have a few more years at the top of his game.

Somewhat bizarrely, the Mirror also reports that West Ham have earmarked Sturridge as a potential replacement for Andy Carroll as they are ready to cash in on the forward due to his own injury problems.

With that in mind, Hammers fans may well be hoping that the England striker does end up heading to Parc des Princes as, while signing him could pay off enormously, it could just as easily prove extremely costly for a club like theirs to spend such a huge amount of money on an injury-prone player.
