Tottenham Hotspur are one of several high-profile clubs credited with an interest in the Ipswich Town prospect.

Tottenham Hotspur could be among several previously linked clubs left disappointed in their pursuit of Ipswich Town prospect Kundai Benyu.
The Daily Mail reported this month that Tottenham are long-term admirers of Benyu, who impressed on loan to Aldershot Town this past campaign.

And it was claimed the 19-year-old is poised to leave Ipswich Town at the end of his contract this summer – piquing the attentions of Mauricio Pochettino’s side, as well as Aston Villa, West Ham United and Celtic.
However, it is now being reported by Green ‘Un 24 that Benyu will definitely NOT be on his way out of Portman Road, with talks to extend his deal at an advanced stage.

And the local news outlet adds that even if the midfielder was to turn down the Tractor Boys’ offer, the club could always exercise a 12-month extension clause in his current contract.
However, the latter outcome would still not ensure that Benyu’s immediate future lies with Ipswich, who would surely prefer not to keep him at the club against his will if an approach comes in from Tottenham – or any other interested party.

Although, it is likely to ensure the Championship side are more greatly compensated for the London-born Zimbabwean, who has been on their books since the age of 16.
